Harpers Ferry White Water Rafting – Harpers Ferry Shenandoah, Harpers Ferry, WV – Sunday, September 2, 2012 1:00 PM…

Harpers Ferry White Water Rafting

Spring and Fall trips offer an exciting, heart pounding experience. Summer trips provide a more mild, family friendly adventure, typically due to lower water levels. The Shenandoah is always a great option for beginner to intermediate paddlers. This popular trip will guide you through the splashing white water of the Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers near Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, and is located where Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia come together. River Riders has the expertise, guides, and equipment to meet all your outdoor adventure needs. Come play, only an hour away from both Washington, DC and Baltimore, MD!

This trip is suitable for children 30 lbs and up.

Pricing:
The rafting trip pricing varies according to the day of week you would like to go out. Since we are doing this on a Sunday, the price will be for $69 per person and this includes a hamburger hotdog lunch after the trip (weekend trips all come with the lunch). The trips also have a $2 river fee and 6% sales tax on top of these prices. They do have group discounts of $6 off per person if we have at least 12 people in our group and book and pay as a group with one payment.

From the DC Area:

I-270 north to Frederick, MD. Merge with I-70 West at Frederick for about 1/2 a mile, Take Exit 52 – 340 West to Charles Town. Follow US 340 for 16 miles and cross the Potomac River Bridge. Continue 2 miles and cross the Shenandoah River Bridge. Follow 340 to the top of the hill and see Cliffside Quality Inn on the left. Get in the left lane and proceed downhill. (Look to your left and you will see our building – it is a large blue building with a red roof and “River Riders” in black letters on the front.) At the bottom of the hill, turn left onto Millville Road (you will see a large flea market open on the weekends). Once on Millville Road, go three-tenths of one mile and make a sharp left turn onto Alstadts Hill Road. There is also a small blue “River Riders” sign. Follow this road to the last building on the right.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

“It was the perfect size vessel for a perfect adventure. We saw some bigger boats disgorge their 80 or so passengers at one island and thanked our lucky stars that we booked a smaller vessel.”

Exploring the Galapagos Islands

Uploaded by  on Nov 29, 2007

The moment you step foot on your first island here you’ll see that freedom and fearlessness are a way of life. Whether strolling the islands’ pristine beaches, searching for the spectacular waved albatross, having a “chat” with a particularly friendly sea lion, or snorkeling with Galápagos penguins, a glorious feeling of uninhibitedness abounds.

Our fleet of nimble Zodiacs allow us to nose into landfalls and cruise along reefs, which afford us intimate views of “the action.” Our kayaks let you see the islands at “elbow height.” Our expert Naturalists are always there to point out particularly unusual wildlife behaviors and characteristics so that you may observe, inquire and react as it unfolds before your eyes. Their specialized knowledge and interests — marine biology, zoology, botany, and geology — will transform your adventure into a biology class in real-time.

Here in Darwin’s natural laboratory, the animal world is your oyster.
