The jet pack in the video runs off of water. It’s the first of its kind. The tube you see attached to it, that goes into the water, goes into a gas powered small boat that follows whenever the jet pack pilot is flying (if you look close in the video you can see it).

The jet pack itself is super safe. It’s actually approved for the water by the coast guard, and there is nothing illegal about it :) You need to be at least 18 years old to fly it. It takes about 30 minutes to an hour of training, and then you’re set. These water jet packs are going on sale very soon, and you can contact the company to get on their waiting list. You can contact them herehttp://www.jetlev.com And you can find out a lot more about them on the website.

The jet pack is able to fly purely by the volume of water that comes out of the two hoses that are attached to it. It shoots out 10 times more water volume then a fire hydrant does. You can stick your hand right where the water comes out, and you won’t get hurt at all, as you can see several times in the video.

We filmed this over a period of a couple days, around Miami, and we usually only needed to fuel up once on gasoline, which once again goes in the small boat that follows/attaches to the hose that follows you.

My friend I went to film school with, Philip Goodwin, he was the one who contacted me about this originally. We worked together side by side to make this video happen, with the Jetlev crew as well, who all rocked, and were super accommodating.

You can check out Philip Goodwin’s website here.

My friend Aaron Sorensen added the sweet lens flares in all the opening shots. He’s amazing at after effects, and does it for a living. You can contact him here if your needing some work done. aaron@initial-productions.com

The video was shot on a Canon 5D Mark II, with a 16-35mm F/2.8 Lens. Everything on this camera was shot at 24fps.
And Philip shot on a Canon 60D, which shot mostly at 60fp, and then we sped it up to 250 percent so it could run normal speed.

SOUTH RIVER BOAT RENTALS

www.southriverboatrentals.com

Why You’ll Love It

  • Spend a full or half day cruising scenic Chesapeake Bay
  • Fleet of sailboats and powerboats to choose from
  • Bring food and drinks or visit Annapolis waterfront destinations

Glassy water, salty sprays on the sea breeze, a sun-kissed tan, and an ice-cold beer—there really isn’t anything like a day on Chesapeake Bay, is there? But don’t take our word for it. South River Boat Rentals has a fleet of motor- and wind-powered vessels waiting to take you and your crew on a journey around the bay.

If you can tell port from starboard, man the mainsheet and set sail for any number of Annapolis destinations—waterfront taverns, raw bars, and restaurants await. For less experienced landlubbers, South Boat River Rentals is happy to provide a captain. Feel like fishing, crabbing, or simply cruising? You just say the word.

If more speed floats your boat, opt for a Wellcraft powerboat with 140 (sea)horsepower. An included inner tube, knee board, or water skis, plus fishing apparatus and swim platform mean you’ll have plenty to do even far from shore.

$20 for Cherry Blossom Benefit Boat Tour for Two ($40 Value)…

Even though water covers most of the earth’s surface, humans spend most of their lives on land and a small portion in the air while they’re sleeping. Float on with this Groupon.

$20 for Cherry Blossom Benefit Boat Tour for Two ($40 Value)

The 50-minute cherry blossom boat tour travels down the Potomac and Anacostia rivers. Up to 26 passengers at a time can snap photos of the rare trees and learn about the history of the National Cherry Blossom Festival as they sip BYOB beverages. Docked at Diamond Teague Park near the Navy Yard Green Line station, the boats will set sail from Tuesday–Sunday until April 29, running four trips each weekday and eight trips on weekends. All proceeds from the tours will go to scholarships for underserved children to attend the organization’s experiential learning program, All Hands on Deck.

Living Classrooms Foundation

Since 1985, the Living Classrooms Foundation has provided educational programs that instruct young students and prepares adults for careers under the banner of a simple philosophy: learning by doing. The organization caters to underserved populations in the Greater DCBaltimore area, educating students through fieldtrips and after-school programs and providing workforce preparation and life-skills training for young adults and families. Its experiential learning opportunities are anchored in community and environmental awareness and often place a special focus on educating the general public about the significance of the region’s maritime heritage. Educational programs include environment-focused activities for families in Maryland’s Glen Echo Park, as well as an orienteering field trip that teaches students from grades two through eight about the basics of map-based navigation, preventing them from having to endure the putrid witch breath that befell the notoriously disoriented Hansel and Gretel.

For underserved teens and adults, Living Classrooms also serves as a resource for gaining the skills necessary to obtain long-term employment. Its 40-week Fresh Start program uses metalwork as a medium to teach reading, writing, math, history, and science to youth aged 16–19, with the goal of demonstrating practical, workplace applications for academic knowledge.
